Kashan
Kashan, famous for its carpets for almost 800 years, produced such fine carpets between 1900 and 1950 that the region became established in many people's minds as the home of the best in carpet weaving. The style is characterized by the rich colors and shape of the medallion, with its little spikes and rectangular corner-turns in the medallion outline.

Kerman: American Style
Many strong colors, basically pastels, characterize Kerman carpets, and the rugs are available in almost all sizes and shapes. Kerman carpets utilize a coarse weave and simple knots and, as a result, are less expensive than any other manufactured Persian carpet of equal quality.

Bijar
Rose Bijar carpets, like the one at left, began appearing the 19th century with the European-inspired revival of carpet-weaving. The colors, medium and deep rose with a light green, are characteristic, as are the broad ribbon-contour of the medallion and the overbraiding between the end of the rug and the fringe.
